LEGACY

The Château de La Grille is a legacy. The legacy of the first stones laid in the 15th century. The legacy of the ambition of the 19th century builders whose “Troubadour” style was a desire to pay tribute to the Middle Ages.

The roofing, the chimneys, the façade, the door and windows frames have been renovated with the techniques used during that period. In Touraine we are lucky to have fellow craftsmen who pass down these skills and use their art in numerous châteaux in the LOIRE VALLEY.

TROUBADOUR

The Troubadour style is an artistic movement which aims to use different art forms to reinvent and recreate an idealized impression of the Middle ages and the Renaissance. It goes against the Neo-Classical and Empire styles of the period. The rediscovery of the Medieval mindset is one of the interesting intellectual tendencies of the beginning of 19th century France.

To renovate the drawing Room and dining Room, we were keen to respect the original spirit of the Château de La Grille and recreate an atmosphere worthy of Gustave de Cougny with many references to the typically ” Renaissance ” style of Louis XIII.

FROM THE MIDDLE AGES … TO MODERNITY

On the upper floors, five luxurious bedrooms where we have highlighted the vast size of the Château, create a feel of both the Middle Ages and the 19th century, without giving up any modern comforts.

A WELCOME MADE TO MEASURE

In the grounds, an orangery enables seating for up to 300 guests.

The Château, with its drawing room, dining room, kitchen and 5 luxuriously decorated bedrooms, is designed for you and your family or friends to gather in comfort, and to celebrate the important moments in life.

2 rooms on the second floor of the Château are equipped for organizing your meetings or seminars.
